iotaMotion Secures Series B Funding to Expand Robotic-Assisted Cochlear Implant Electrode Insertion System

IOWA CITY, IOWA – iotaMotion, Inc., a leader in innovative surgical solutions for cochlear implantation, has announced that its iotaSoft® robotic-assisted insertion system is now in use at 25 cochlear implant centers across the United States. The company has also secured Series B funding to further accelerate its expansion in 2025.

The iotaSoft system is designed to assist surgeons in the precise and controlled insertion of cochlear implant electrodes, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and improve the surgical process.

The system enables fine control of electrode advancement, with the goal of preserving delicate cochlear structures during implantation.

Looking ahead to 2025, iotaMotion is positioned to continue its commercial expansion. With Series B funding secured, the company plans to use the capital to scale its operations while advancing innovations in cochlear implantation.  The funding round also included an expansion of the Board of Directors with the addition of Jeff Hopkins.

A seasoned leader with 30 years of experience in medical technology, Hopkins has a track record of driving strategic growth and enhancing value for patients and healthcare providers. He previously led Johnson & Johnson’s Acclarent ENT business through a successful turnaround and expansion into the otology and cranial navigation guidance markets.
