CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — ELEHEAR has announced the launch of Beyond 2 Pro, the latest addition to its Beyond series of over-the-counter hearing aids. The new receiver-in-canal (RIC) device introduces the company’s VOCCLEAR® 3.0 sound-processing system, Auracast™ broadcast audio support, expanded personalization and fitting options, and access to ELEHEAR’s ElePro™ Plus remote audiology service.
Beyond 2 Pro builds on the company’s previous Beyond platform with a focus on improving speech understanding in noisy and complex listening environments. At the center of the new device is VOCCLEAR® 3.0, the latest generation of ELEHEAR’s proprietary sound-processing technology.
Building on ELEHEAR’s deep neural network (DNN)-based noise reduction platform, VOCCLEAR® 3.0 is designed to refine how steady background sounds are processed while using target speech enhancement to make conversations easier to follow when competing noise is present.
According to ELEHEAR, internal testing conducted under very noisy conditions found that VOCCLEAR® 3.0 delivered a 39% relative improvement in speech intelligibility compared with the previous generation. The company says the updated processing is intended to place greater emphasis on the voice a user wants to hear while reducing interference from surrounding noise.
The updated platform also includes changes to feedback management. In internal testing, ELEHEAR reports that its upgraded feedback suppression system responded 32% faster than the previous generation. The system is designed to reduce whistling that can occur during movement or other everyday situations while preserving high-frequency amplification.
Auracast and Connected Listening
Beyond 2 Pro adds support for Auracast™ broadcast audio, extending the device’s connectivity beyond conventional one-to-one Bluetooth streaming. Auracast, part of Bluetooth LE Audio, allows compatible hearing devices and other audio products to receive broadcasts from enabled televisions, public-address systems, and other audio sources.
For Beyond 2 Pro users, this means compatible broadcasts in public spaces can be streamed directly to the hearing aids without requiring an additional receiver. As Auracast deployment expands, the technology is expected to provide another option for accessing audio in environments such as transportation hubs, auditoriums, theaters, and other public venues equipped with compatible broadcast systems.
Beyond 2 Pro also continues to offer ELEHEAR’s real-time AI translation feature. The technology is designed to support multilingual face-to-face conversations by providing translation through the company’s connected listening platform.
More Control Over Sound and Fit
ELEHEAR has also expanded the personalization options available to Beyond 2 Pro users. Through the ELEHEAR app, a new Balanced Sound Control feature allows users to fine-tune the balance of bass, midrange, and treble according to their listening preferences.
The company has made several physical changes to the device as well. Beyond 2 Pro introduces a new brown color option and a lighter, flatter RIC design intended to sit more comfortably behind the ear.
The hearing aids also feature user-replaceable receivers and multiple receiver-length options. These additions provide more flexibility for fit and maintenance compared with a more fixed consumer hearing-device configuration and allow the receiver to be replaced without replacing the entire hearing aid.
ElePro Plus Expands Remote Audiology Support
Beyond 2 Pro is also compatible with ElePro™ Plus, the live tele-audiology service ELEHEAR introduced for Beyond Series users in August. The service adds an optional professional-care component to the company’s self-fitting OTC model by connecting users with licensed audiologists for live, one-on-one virtual appointments.
Through ElePro Plus, users can receive an optional live hearing assessment along with device fine-tuning, real-world sound optimization, and ongoing follow-up support. Audiologists can review an individual user’s hearing profile and make adjustments to the hearing aids remotely in real time based on hearing needs and listening preferences.
ELEHEAR has continued expanding the service since its initial launch. On September 9, the company announced availability in 15 additional states, bringing ElePro Plus to 24 states in total.
ELEHEAR said the rollout is continuing on a state-by-state basis as regulatory frameworks allow, including through the Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact (ASLP-IC).
The service is available to Beyond Series owners through the ELEHEAR app and is priced at $99 per session.
