LXE Hearing marked World Hearing Day 2026 by highlighting the global reach of its consumer and access-focused hearing care brands, as well as ongoing initiatives through the hearX Foundation.
The company—formed through the merger of Lexie, hearX, and Eargo—said the combined brands have supported more than 3 million people in 192 countries with hearing care services and products.
World Hearing Day 2026, led by the World Health Organization, carries the theme:
“From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children. Act now so no child is left behind due to ear or hearing problems.”
LXE said the theme aligns with programs operated by the hearX Foundation.
hearX Foundation initiative focuses on teachers and early identification
Founded in 2017, the hearX Foundation has conducted more than 125,000 hearing tests and supported hearing screening efforts in underserved communities across South Africa, according to the company.
To coincide with World Hearing Day, the Foundation announced an AI-powered, WhatsApp-based Teacher Training program intended to build hearing-health awareness and support early identification of possible childhood hearing difficulties.
The training is designed to help teachers:
- Understand the importance of healthy hearing
- Identify possible hearing difficulties in learners
- Learn simple steps to support children in the classroom
“Over the past year, our combined reach has demonstrated the power of innovation, technology, and mission-driven programs in making hearing care accessible to millions. The ongoing work of the hearX Foundation is a vital part of this mission, ensuring hearing care extends to communities across the globe.”
