Signia Introduces Styletto: World’s First SLIM-RIC Hearing Aid

Signia has announced the release of a brand new rechargeable hearing aid form factor: Styletto. 

 

New Hearing Aid Style, New Charging Paradigm

 

The new Styletto has been made possible with advanced signal processing electronics and rechargeable technology placed into a ultra-low power circuit board. A pin shaped Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) battery is used, instead of the industry standard “button cell” style round batteries.

The company is calling the new, uniquely designed form factor a “SLIM-RIC” or Slim Receiver In Canal hearing aid. In addition to the unique shape and design, the Styletto’s portable charging case is said to enable enables four days1 of user autonomy, without need for plugs or cables for completely convenient handling on the move.

The new hearing aids utilize the Signia Nx platform, rechargeable Li-ion batteries and Own Voice Processing (OVP) for a natural sounding own voice. The devices offer ultra HD e2e binaural link, enhanced spatial awareness, and support an extended dynamic range for superior hearing.

 

Opening new market opportunities for Hearing Healthcare?

 

According to the announcement, a consumer study conducted by the company found that Styletto’s unique design was preferred by more than 8 out of 10 people compared to conventional hearing aids.2 The study also found that the Styletto devices helped drive more in-store conversion of people with hearing loss into hearing aid wearers, and also significantly increasing the number of people who express interest in Signia branded hearing aids by 14 percent.3

The new Styletto is available in three color combinations: Dark Granite and Silver, Cosmic Blue and Rose Gold, or Snow White and Rose Gold. It is scheduled to go on sale in September 2018 in the USA, several European countries (Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom), Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and in the rest of the world during Q4 2018.
