SMØRUM, DENMARK — Demant reported strong third-quarter results, with revenue increasing 21% compared with the same period last year. The Danish hearing healthcare company attributed much of the growth to demand for its latest hearing aid technology, particularly the newly introduced Oticon Reveal, along with the expansion of its hearing care business.
Total revenue reached DKK 6.62 billion (~$1.03 billion) for the quarter, compared with DKK 5.45 billion (~$845 million) a year earlier. Excluding the effects of acquisitions and currency fluctuations, the company’s underlying business grew 11%.
Demant operates across several areas of hearing healthcare, including hearing aid manufacturing, hearing care clinics, and diagnostic equipment.
Oticon Reveal Leads Hearing Aid Growth
Demant’s hearing aid business was a major contributor to the quarter’s performance, recording 17% growth in sales to external customers compared with the third quarter of 2025.
The company said the launch of Oticon Reveal was particularly successful in the United States, where demand helped accelerate sales and contributed to an improvement in its estimated market share.
Demant also credited continued momentum from Oticon Zeal with strengthening its overall hearing aid portfolio.

The company reported that both the number of hearing aids sold and the average selling price contributed to growth. Higher average selling prices also helped improve profitability, reflecting a shift toward newer products in its sales mix.
North America delivered double-digit underlying growth in the hearing aid business, driven entirely by the United States. Demant also reported an improved market share in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) channel.
Europe recorded strong growth, with particularly positive contributions from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Australia also performed strongly, although hearing aid sales in China declined.
Global Hearing Aid Market Shows Stronger Demand
Beyond Demant’s own performance, the company reported signs of improving demand across the broader hearing aid market.
Based on available industry data and its own estimates, Demant said global hearing aid unit sales increased approximately 6% during the third quarter compared with the same period in 2025. The overall market grew approximately 7% in value, reflecting both increased sales volumes and changes in the types of products sold.
Growth was particularly strong in Europe, where unit sales increased an estimated 8%. North America recorded approximately 6% growth, supported by an 8% increase in the U.S. commercial hearing aid market.
The VA market grew more modestly, at approximately 1%, while the U.S. managed care market continued to face challenges.
These figures suggest that hearing aid demand strengthened during the quarter, although growth varied considerably by region and distribution channel.
Hearing Care Clinics and Diagnostics Also Expand
Demant’s hearing care business, which includes its network of hearing care clinics, reported revenue of DKK 3.28 billion (~$508 million), an increase of 29% compared with the previous year.
Much of this increase came from the acquisition of KIND, a major German hearing care retailer. Excluding acquisitions and currency effects, the hearing care business grew 6%, with positive contributions from Germany, Canada, and other markets.
Demant also announced plans to bring its hearing care operations in Germany together under the KIND name, creating a more unified organization in the country.
The company’s diagnostics business, which supplies equipment and services used by hearing healthcare professionals, recorded revenue of DKK 599 million (~$93 million), representing a 6% reported increase.
Underlying growth in diagnostics was 4%, supported by sales of diagnostic instruments, services, and consumable products. Demant estimated that its diagnostics business grew slightly faster than the overall market during the quarter.
Demant Maintains Upgraded 2026 Outlook
Following the strong third quarter, Demant reaffirmed the improved financial outlook it announced in October.
The company expects its underlying revenue to grow 7% to 8% for the full year. It also projects operating profit before special items of DKK 4.7–5.0 billion (~$729–775 million).
Demant said it expects the overall hearing aid market to grow approximately 4% to 5% in value during 2026, despite a competitive environment that includes several new product launches from other manufacturers.
The company also resumed its share repurchase program, with plans to buy back at least DKK 3 billion (~$465 million) in shares by the end of 2027.
“We delivered a very strong third quarter with 21% revenue growth for the Group, driven by particularly strong momentum in Hearing Aids and a significant contribution from the acquisition of German hearing care retailer KIND”
–Søren Nielsen, President and CEO of Demant
For hearing healthcare professionals, the results highlight continued demand for new hearing aid technology, particularly in the U.S. commercial market, alongside ongoing investment in hearing care services and diagnostic equipment.
The quarter also illustrates how product introductions, clinic acquisitions, and regional market conditions are shaping growth across the hearing healthcare industry.
